DISQUALIFICATION OF HORSE

NOTICE

ORDER OF THE STEWARDS

 

From the test report dated 1st May, 2026  received from the QuantiLab, Mauritius it was observed that the analysis of the urine sample taken from dk b g CORTADO, trained by Mr. Aashay Doctor and owned by Miss. D Pasari and Mr. C K Pasari, rep. M/s United Investments, Mr. Vishal Doctor & Mr. Kamal J Doctor rep. Deciding Factor LLP, M/s Sarainaga Racing Pvt Ltd., Mr. Hemang Devendra Doctor, Mr. Nihar Dugar & Mr. Rajesh Sarda, on 19th March, 2026 following it’s win in Race No. 178 – THE EXOTICA HANDICAP of The Calcutta Cold Weather Season 2025-2026, had shown the presence of “xylazine and 4’-hydroxyxylazine”,  a Class III prohibited substance under the Rules of Medication and Treatment of Horses in Training & Racing and Anti Doping Control.

 

At the request of Tr. Aashay Doctor, the ‘B’ sample was sent to the Laboratoire des Courses Hippiques, France for confirmatory analysis which confirmed the presence of “xylazine and 4’-hydroxyxylazine” in the ‘B’ sample of the said gelding.  Therefore, the Stewards, Royal Calcutta Turf Club, taking into cognizance the results of the ‘A’ and ‘B’ samples, ordered the disqualification of dk b g CORTADO, placed 1st by the Judge in the above race and revised the order of placings as under :-

From the test report dated 27.02.2015 received from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory, it was observed that the analysis of the Urine Sample taken from b g OCEAN AND BEYOND, trained by Mr. Patrick Quinn and owned by Mrs. R Duggal, Mrs. Shikha Anand and Mr. Pervez Andhyarujina had shown the presence of ’16-beta-hydroxystanozolol’, a prohibited substance under the Rules of Medication and Treatment of Horses in Training & Racing and Anti Doping Control.  The sample was taken after the gelding’s  run in Race No. 160 of the Calcutta Cold Weather Season (Spring Meeting) 2014-15 on 07.02.2015.

 

Tr. Patrick Quinn had not opted to send the split sample (B sample) for confirmatory analysis.   Therefore, the Stewards, Royal Calcutta Turf Club, taking into cognizance the result of the ‘A’  sample as final, ordered the disqualification of  b g OCEAN AND BEYOND, placed 2nd  by the Judge in the above race and revised the order of placings  as under :-

From the test report dated 04.02.2015 received from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory, it was observed that the analysis of the Urine Sample taken from b g OCEAN AND BEYOND, trained by Mr. Patrick Quinn and owned by Mrs. R Duggal, Mr. Sikha Anand and Mr. Pervez Andhyarujina had shown the presence of ’16-beta-hydroxystanozolol’, a prohibited substance under the Rules of Medication and Treatment of Horses in Training & Racing and Anti Doping Control.  The sample was taken after the gelding’s  run in Race No. 133 of the Calcutta Cold Weather Season (Winter Meeting) 2014-15 on 23.01.2015.

Patrick Quinn the ‘B’ sample was sent to The Laboratory of Federation Nationl Des Courses Francaise, France  for confirmatory analysis which also reported the presence of ’16-beta-hydroxystanozolol’ in the B sample of the said gelding.  Therefore, the Stewards, Royal Calcutta Turf Club, taking into cognizance the results of the ‘A’ and ‘B’ samples, ordered the disqualification of  b g OCEAN AND BEYOND, placed 3rd   by the Judge in the above race and revised the order of placings  as under :-

At the request of Tr. Vijay Singh the B sample was sent to The Laboratory of Federation Nationl Des Courses Francaise, France  for confirmatory analysis which also reported the presence of LAMOTRIGINE in the B sample of the said horse.  Therefore, the Stewards, Royal Calcutta Turf Club, taking into cognizance the results of the ‘A’ and ‘B’ samples, ordered the disqualification of  b h DANDIFIED, placed 1st  by the Judge in the above race and revised the order of placings  as under :-
